Jermaine Jackson Says Michael’s Youngsters Are All Right

A year since their father’s early death, Michael Jackson’s kids Prince, thirteen, Paris, twelve, and Blanket, eight are living a relatively regular life and appear to be prospering, according to Michael’s bro Jermaine. “My mummy [Katherine] raised 9 youngsters, so she definitely knows the correct way to raise them,” Jermaine told Folks on Tues. night at a dinner celebrating the 5th yearly Kids Combining States meeting in Washington, D.C.
The children are getting to do things youngsters should enjoy, says Jermaine, fifty five relaxing with their cousins, playing Nintendo games and going to see animated films. “we have dinners at different homes,” Jermaine announces, and the families organize getaways together including a visit to Hawaii round the first anniversary of Michael death last month. As they age, it appears the love of entertainment is in their blood. “they like the film business, and they adore being behind the scenes,” Jermaine says.
“Blanket likes to dance and sing. Prince and Paris love movies. They can tell you about directors and producers and all that stuff.” Jermaine, joined at the dinner by bro Randy, claimed family matriarch Katherine, who has full custody of her grandkids, has been doing “an excellent job in keeping everyone together.” We are still mourning, he is saying, but I sense Michael’s presence in their lives. “I feel him everywhere,” Jermaine says. “I know Michael’s spirit is so much alive. He is steering me … Us to just keep things going and keep things the way they are meant to be.”

Pillowhead to Play a Live Concert at the Cave

On Sat. , July 10, Queensbury-based band Pillowhead will play a live performance at The Cavern , a new music location at journey Sports Racing on Route nine in Queensbury, and later will play a fresh free show for 18-and-older crowd at the Queensbury Hotel. They are playing supporting their 2nd self-produced five-song EP, titled “The Bad Sleep Well.” After investing just about $6,000 and numerous hours recording the record, on Sat. , Pillowhead will simply give it away. “when you are a new band and you put out your first few records and you attempt to get folks to spend $10 or $15 for a band they do not know yet - it does not actually work,” claimed Pillowhead drummer Mateo Vosganian.
“We just decided that after being in so many bands and seeing how poorly records were selling, we need to earn those sales. Therefore ( by distributing the album for free ) it is a great marketing tool and it gives folk a rationalization to buy our record when we are signed and it’s in stores.” The band will be distributing ten thousand copies at their impending shows and fans can download “The Bad Sleep Well” for free on their MySpace page ( www.myspace.com / pillowheadmusic ). Pillowhead is made from Vosganian, twenty-three, lead vocalist / guitar strummer Paul Hake, twenty-four, lead guitar player Jared Piper, twenty, and bass player, keyboardist Colin Miner, 20. All are from the Queensbury-Glens Falls area. Vosganian and Hake grew up playing in garage bands in The Pines in Queensbury. They met in middle college and later graduated from Queensbury school together. Hake spent almost all of his time at Vosganian’s house playing, listening to and recording music.

Season Finale of Glee

Nine months back, as that nice Mr Schuester explained at the beginning of the conclusion to the 1st season of Glee, “there were 5 of you in here. And we sucked.” 9 months back, there were only about 5 of us watching: and, yes, they did suck, those few darn rag-tag misfit losers from McKinley High in Lima, Ohio, but we knew they’d improve, gleefully so. 9 months later this baby is absolutely out, swaddled in awards and platinum albums and many tears, and it has been the naughty pleasure for millions: men, if caught watching it, will redden and switch to the donkey-porn channel; ladies will mutteringly insist they are just catching up on, like, who’s pregnant and that, fair. But we’re all just there to cry. The virility of inexpensive music, the potential of cheap tears.

You detest yourself, for being manipulated, for feeling yourself gulp a little hard, feeling those tickles at the back of your eyes, when anyone in a wheelchair, say, or fat and black, all of a sudden starts to win, to play like Ashkenazy or to sing like Phoebe Snow, and the school’s thick white jocks give grudging nods. These cliches should not work, we tell ourselves. So : is it the honesty that makes it work? Do not be ludicrous.
Is it the music? No, in deep, scratchy, tearing-the-paper italics. The tune running thru this culmination was Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”, which is one of those songs that, though I know technically he did not, Tony Blair appears in my memory to have selected for his Desert Island Discs, that time he was on and (this is true) selected to explain Barber’s Adagio as “that theme music from the film Platoon”: yes, it’s that sort of music. The script, and the acting, make it work, brilliantly so : writers and cast have rose high on an especially fine cusp and never slid to prosaic or mawkish.

Hi-Tech 3D Tvs

Filed under: Better Multimedia, Internet Music, Living With Movies — admin at 8:11 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2010

To hi tech how 3D TV technology works, one must find out how our eyes work. Our eyes are several centimeters apart from each other and therefore receive the input image from different positions. Our brain uses that information and is smart enough to mesh the two seperate images into one single view, creating depth, and making what we see 3 dimensional or 3D.

3D TV sets work in somewhat theewhat the way, one way or another they transmit two separate images to your eyes in a very precise way that it knows your brain will alter the incoming image into 3D after processing it.

Tricking the brain like this is no easy project, and for for some time now the simple and cheap technology was to wear colored glasses that had a large drawback of limiting the number of colors that you could enjoy a movie in.

Today, bigger TV manufactures such as Sony have improved on the process that with shutter glasses the full spectrum of colors can be enjoyed. Panasonic is one of the manufactures that has manufactured an auto stereoscope system that will make it possibleke it possible make 3D viewing possible without the need of uncomfortable glasses at all.

All in all, the 3D TV industry is still in its early development, but many leading companies are investing greatly into it in hopes that it will be the next big fad. If movies such as Avatar are anything to go by, the chances of success are pretty prominent. Now it is up to the industry to improve technology and make it less of a burden, reduce prices, and generate enough content through 3D games, 3D movies, 3D episodes of popular series, and 3D TV channels.

“Kids are watching that and want to be on it. Where is the push for new music for kids? It is an appalling programme.”

JLS Want X Factor Format to Change

JLS have criticised X Factor’s live auditions, claiming they have ruined the show.

The foursome, who came runners-up to Alexandra Burke on the ITV1 talent contest last year, say that making the hopefuls sing in front of a live audience is a rip-off of Britain’s Got Talent.

Oritsé Williams told The Sun that it had put him off tuning in. He said: “I did catch 10 minutes of it on YouTube. It’s too much like Britain’s Got Talent.”

Aston Merrygold added: “I watched it and expected to get a weird feeling because we were there a year ago - but I didn’t.

“It’s a completely different show now. I don’t like the new format - it’s taken the build-up away.”

And Marvin Humes said: “Some contestants have been wicked. But it seems like they’re already in the live finals.

“You don’t get to see personalities properly - they’re more confident and playful. It takes away the intimacy.”

A poll in The Sun found that 70 per cent of viewers preferred the old system.

JLS have criticised the new X Factor format, claiming that it is too similar to Britain’s Got Talent.

The ‘Beat Again’ group, who were runners-up in last year’s series, blasted the decision to hold the audition stages in front of a live audience.

“I watched it and expected to get a weird feeling because we were there a year ago, but I didn’t. It’s a completely different show now,” Aston Merrygold told Gay Times.

Chicago Music Schools: Do Something Real

Filed under: Internet Music — admin at 5:40 pm on Friday, September 18, 2009

If a friend likes piano, perhaps he or she should
consider taking private violin or piano lessons. A respected piano
school in Chicago probably offers qualified teachers who will
demonstrate you learn to read and play in different types of genres
and sounds. A music student wouldn’t have to ride the L terribly far
to select a Chicago music school with personable and professional
music experts.

We’llbegin with the obvious: guitar lessons. You know, the piano is
a hugely hot music-making tool (right alongside the xylophone). You
can’t go wrong with any of them. A talented guitar teacher would let
you play a noteworthy rocking diddy each time! Dissimilar from old
school piano classes, small Chicago piano teachers are the thoughtful
groundbreaking way to learn the skill by playing guitar, or piano.

It doesn’t matter if you just started out or you’ve been playing
music since you were born–Lake View Chicago piano lessons can aid a
student to master what you create in your heart. A suite of
alternatives including: group href="http://www.backbeatmusic.net/ChicagoGuitarLessons.html">kids
guitar lessons, Adult and Son guitar lessons, elementary music
instruction for the kids and especially classical piano classes.
Naturally, cheap family members may take a firm stand that you study
your piano scales, guitar tabs and how to carry a rhythm as a
prerequesite to beloved violin music you have a passion for. Just
wait, they’ll sign up with you when you write your own songs,

These young teachers are acquiring a completely dissimilar
approach. Essentially there are stacks of fun advances! But the most
important thing to recall is that vocal lessons, and music instruction
of all types was meant to be experienced socially. Music is passion
and that’s the core.. Guitar teachers make quite an impact in your
ability to pick things up.

Beginner’s Guide to Music File Formats

Filed under: Internet Music — admin at 12:32 am on Monday, May 19, 2008

Are you confused by the various types of music file formats out there? Most of you would have heard of the popular MP3 format, but are you aware there are other alternative digital music formats like WAV, WMA, RA and MIDI? Some of these give better sound quality than MP3 (e.g. the WAV format) but also need more disk storage space. Others like WMA give file sizes smaller than the MP3 format and are more suited for portable music players.

Let’s run through the various file formats now:

The MP3 File Format

MP3 files have the extension “.mp3″ and are available for download from many web sites. MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3) technology compresses a sound sequence into a very small file (usually one twelfth of of the original file size). The designers of MP3 compression algorithm managed to do this by eliminating sounds that the human ear cannot perceive. While MP3 technology is impressive, it has been abused by music pirates. One can very easily create MP3 files from commercial CDs and make them available for download. The RIAA and major music companies have been cracking down on the distribution and sharing of MP3 files in this manner.

The WMA File Format

WMA (Windows Media Audio) is Microsoft’s proprietary music file format that it is marketing aggressively. WMA files are smaller in size than MP3 files, but still retain a decent level of sound quality. This format is getting very popular in websites for sampling music and also in portable music players. However, whether WMA will overtake the popularity of MP3 remains to be seen.

The WAV File Format

A wave file is characterized by the file extension “.wav”. This music file format provides raw, uncompressed audio data. Originally invented by Microsoft, wave files are still used widely (examples include your start up and shut down sounds in Windows). Audio quality is excellent, but the file size is huge. A full pop song in wave format may take up to 30 MB of disk space or more.

The AIFF File Format

The AIFF (Audio Interchange File Format) is a popular music file formats used in the Apple Macintosh operating system. In a way, they are the Macintosh equivalent of wave files. AIFF files have the file extension “.aif” when accessed via a PC. They contain raw audio data (which result in excellent sound quality) but take up a large amount of disk space.

The MIDI File Format

The MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) file format was originally created for recording and playing music on digital synthesizers. MIDI files are very small in size. The reason for this is that the MIDI file only contains information on how music is produced (e.g. note-ons and note-offs). The sound card which plays back the MIDI file takes this information and plays back music using an in-built soundcard wavetable.

The RA File Format

RA (RealAudio) files support streaming technology. Created by Progressive Networks, an RA file is highly optimized for live, streaming audio from websites. RA files are best played back on RealAudio players which are freely downloadable from Progressive Networks.

Conclusion

Well, that wraps up our coverage of the most popular music file formats out there. You may be interested to know that there are many software applications which can convert music from one format to another (e.g. MP3 to WAV or WAV to AIFF). Do a search for these applications at www.download.com.

Podcasting your own podcast.

Filed under: Internet Music — admin at 6:07 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2008

The hippest new way to broadcast information on the internet,
podcasting, crept into internet vocabulary in 2004. And the
editors of the New Oxford American Dictionary have selected
“podcast” as the word of the year for 2005.

Why is podcasting cool and so compelling? Unlike traditional
broadcasting, podcasting allows you to select what you want to
download to your iPod or other portable audio device and listen
to later.

A podcast is the wide and growing world of a blog. And of course
that means it’s just as cheap: free and easy for all. The major
difference is that a podcast involves audio content feeds of
“live happenings” while a blog records what happened in the
past. So podcast yourself and you’ll catch up with the growth of
technology.

Especially, no one controls over what you have podcast. No
rules, no regulations. Adam Curry, known as an MTV VJ to some
but to most as one of the fathers of podcasting, said, “You can
hear all these shows that are completely free and open with no
FCC restrictions and they don’t have to sound the way radio
traditionally has.” He added, “Anyone who wants to sell anything
or communicate through audio can use this technology.” And since
anyone can be a podcaster, the cost of publishing free speech
plunges.

Podcasting is a cross between a radio show and a blog. The great
thing is anyone can produce a podcast with little budget and
basic knowledge of IT. Once you have produced your own podcast,
and as long as you keep on podcasting, you can invite people to
subscribe to receive updates regularly instead of having to
revisit your site. This is done in a very similar way to using
an RSS reader to syndicate blog.

Now, if you want to be a celebrity overnight, all you need is a
little piece of software, sort of Music Morpher Gold, a
microphone and a great concept and you’re an instant podcaster.
Not only will your voice be podcast, the many formats of
podcasting will also let you publish your video or pictures.
That’s the reason why you can use DVD Player-Morpher Gold to
produce those stuffs.

Have a future in the entertainment industry. Host your own talk
show, music radio, personal radio show, etc. Or just distribute
your audio and video via the internet. It’s all about
convenience! Let everyone see your music as “a proper podcast”
in place of “a common crap”.
